I’m Still Standing

 In Special Events

The BC Epilepsy Society is a provincially incorporated non-profit organization.  It is a federally registered charitable organization that provides information, advocacy, and support to over 50,000 people living with epilepsy in British Columbia and their families.  DreamGroup planner, Olivia Woolwich worked closely with Jacci Sandler and the I’m Still Standing Committee to help bring together a successful and fun event held at D/6 Bar & Lounge.  The event brought a lot of wonderful people together for a great cause and a lot of money was raised!

Did you know that 1 in 3 people living with epilepsy experience a co-occurring mental health challenge? Did you know that people living with epilepsy are 5 times more likely to experience mental health challenges than the general population? Did you know that only a fraction of people living with epilepsy get diagnosed and treated for mental health conditions?

Ali Pejman – Master of Ceremonies: Active in his local community, Ali Pejman is a board member and the Chair of the Major Gifts Committee of the VGH + UBC Hospital Foundation.  He is the Lead Fundraiser for the epilepsy research programs at BC Children’s Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. Ali knows better than most the impact that epilepsy can have on the person that has the condition but also on their family, friends, and loved ones.  This is why he is on a mission to transform epilepsy care in BC, raising funds for the epilepsy programs at BC Children’s Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital.
