Casandra and Jonathan did not need to search far for a reception venue. Fot this intimate Fort Langley wedding they chose the place where they already loved to gather, eat and spend time together.

The ceremony was held inside the charming St. Andrew’s Chapel and continued at Trading Post Eatery, their favourite neighbourhood restaurant. It was the restaurant’s first wedding, the setup window was quick, and every detail needed to work naturally within the space. Somehow, it all came together as though the venue had been hosting celebrations like this for years.

Warm candlelight, neutral florals, vintage finds, meaningful family photographs and a room filled with their favourite people made the day feel less like a production and more like the best possible version of home.

Casie and Jonathan’s celebration was stylish, personal and refreshingly true to the way they live and love.

The result was an effortlessly stylish wedding filled with heartfelt moments, fabulous fashion, delicious food, live music and an unmistakable sense of joy.

Beauty That Felt Polished and Timeless

Casie’s wedding beauty look was sophisticated, luminous and perfectly suited to her gown.

Makeup provided by Jaeda Marie Makeup while hairstylist Erin Klassen completed the look with a sleek, softly structured low bun and face framing pieces. The simplicity of the hairstyle allowed the lace neckline, veil and dramatic sleeves to remain the focus. Paired with glowing skin and softly defined eyes, the completed look felt timeless. Casie later “let her hair down” for an equally stunning, second look.

Classic Black + White Wedding Style

Casandra and Jonathan chose a largely neutral wedding palette, allowing the spaces, fashion and personalities of the day to take centre stage.

The wedding party wore black, creating an elegant and cohesive contrast against Casandra’s ivory gown and the soft white flowers designed by Grey Florals & Company.

The bridal bouquets featured crisp white blooms with trailing ribbon, while the reception florals incorporated relaxed greenery and candles. The overall look was polished without feeling overly formal, which suited both the couple and their Fort Langley wedding venues beautifully.

Jonathan looked equally sharp in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie. Together, the couple brought an almost editorial quality to the day while still appearing completely relaxed and themselves.

That balance was captured beautifully by Jo & Glo, the husband and wife Vancouver wedding photography team behind these images. Their warm, intentional approach allowed the fashion and details to shine without losing sight of the real laughter, affection and energy unfolding around them.

A Little Vintage Car Magic and “Something Blue”

Before the ceremony, Casandra and Jonathan took portraits with a dreamy powder blue vintage car.

Against Casandra’s sculptural wedding gown and Jonathan’s black tuxedo, the car added exactly the right touch of personality and nostalgia. It also provided one of our favourite colour moments of the day.

While the couple arrived in vintage style, the groomsmen chose transportation with a little more horsepower of the lawn tractor variety (wink wink).

A Meaningful Wedding Ceremony at St. Andrew’s Chapel

Casandra and Jonathan exchanged vows at St. Andrew’s Chapel, part of the United Churches of Langley.

Located in the heart of Fort Langley, this sweet white heritage chapel could not have been more perfect for their intimate ceremony. Built in 1885, St. Andrew’s is one of Fort Langley’s most recognizable historic buildings and a favourite setting for smaller weddings. The chapel seats approximately 90 guests, making it especially lovely for couples hoping to create a ceremony that feels personal and connected.

Inside, glowing candles softened the warm wood interior and created a quietly romantic atmosphere. The ceremony was led by Reverend Sophia Ducey, who guided Casie and Jonathan through their vows with warmth and sincerity.

There was something wonderfully timeless about seeing Casandra walk through the chapel in her extraordinary wedding gown. The structured satin silhouette was beautiful on its own, but the high lace neckline and dramatic bell sleeves took the look somewhere completely unforgettable. Casandra was stunning.

A Trading Post Eatery Wedding Reception

Following the ceremony, guests gathered at Trading Post Eatery in Fort Langley for dinner and dancing.

Trading Post is Casie and Jonathan’s favourite neighbourhood restaurant, which made it a deeply personal choice for their reception. Rather than selecting a venue simply because it was traditionally associated with weddings, they chose a place already woven into their lives.

We love that.

This was also the very first wedding hosted at Trading Post Eatery and their team absolutely nailed it.

The restaurant’s rustic wood walls, industrial details and existing furnishings created a warm, relaxed foundation for the celebration. Trading Post’s Fort Langley location is a 85 seat eatery featuring a seasonal menu inspired by ingredients from farms throughout the Fraser Valley.

Casie and Jonathan worked with the venue rather than against it, incorporating its furniture and natural character into the overall design. The result felt layered, welcoming and completely at home in the space.

DIY Wedding Décor Filled with Personality

The reception design was a thoughtful collection of DIY projects, vintage finds and marketplace treasures.

Instead of matching every item perfectly, Casie and Jonathan chose pieces that felt collected and personal. Gold candlesticks, amber bottles, lush greenery, framed photographs and glowing pillar candles added character throughout the restaurant.

A lovingly arranged display honoured family members who could not be there in person. Vintage wedding photographs connected the day to earlier generations and gave guests a meaningful place to pause and remember. These are often the details guests recall most clearly because they are not simply decorative. They tell a story.

The couple also created their own wedding stationery and signage, including a charming fabric bar menu featuring their signature cocktails. Even the cocktail napkins had personality, with the sweetest illustrated message from their sweet pup, Carl.

Signature Cocktails and a Relaxed Wedding Dinner

As both reception venue and caterer, Trading Post Eatery treated guests to a comfortable restaurant style dining experience.

The menu was served in the warm, welcoming atmosphere the restaurant is known for, while signature cocktails added a playful personal touch. Guests could choose from an espresso martini, an Old Fashioned or a zero proof cranberry fizz, along with wine, beer and other non alcoholic selections.

The espresso martini received its own adorable finishing touches, including coffee beans and a candy cane garnish, proving once again that even a tiny detail can add plenty of charm.

Restaurant weddings can be such a wonderful option for couples who care deeply about food, atmosphere and guest experience. Choosing a favourite restaurant also gives the celebration an immediate sense of familiarity, making everyone feel as though they have been invited to an exceptionally special dinner party.

Photo + Video Team with a Special Connection

Casandra and Jonathan’s wedding film was created by Sam and Larissa, talented videographers and friends of Jo & Glo who were visiting from Germany.

The collaboration made the experience particularly special. Not only did the couple receive an incredible opportunity to have their day captured on film, but the two creative teams were also able to work a wedding together.

Having photographers and videographers who understand one another’s working styles can make an enormous difference on a wedding day. Jo & Glo, Sam and Larissa moved through the celebration collaboratively, capturing the same story from complementary perspectives.

Live Wedding Music from Johnny Bootleg

Johnny Bootleg brought the celebration to life with live music.

Known for energetic country favourites, classic rock and serious guitar talent, the band was a perfect fit for a reception that prioritized fun over formality.

There is something about live music in an intimate space that immediately changes the energy. Guests are not simply watching a performance from across a ballroom. They are right there with the musicians, singing, dancing and becoming part of the experience.

It was exactly the kind of ending this day deserved.

A Fort Langley Wedding That Felt Completely Authentic

What made Casandra and Jonathan’s wedding so successful was not one particular detail, although there were many beautiful ones.

It was the way everything belonged together.

The intimate heritage chapel, favourite neighbourhood restaurant, vintage finds, personal photographs, relaxed dinner, live band and elegant black and white fashion all felt genuinely connected to the couple.

Even with a fast reception setup and a couple of enthusiastic speeches running slightly longer than anticipated, the day unfolded flawlessly. More importantly, Casie and Jonathan were happy. Their families were happy.

That is always the greatest measure of success.
