Four Weddings, One Iconic Vancouver Venue: DreamGroup at Cecil Green
There are some Vancouver wedding venues we never tire of returning to, and Cecil Green Park House is most definitely one of them.
Tucked away on the UBC campus overlooking the water, this beautiful heritage home has that wonderful combination of history, gardens, views, and warmth that makes it feel special the moment you arrive.
It can be romantic and refined, effortlessly West Coast, intimate and understated, or completely transformed for something a little more glamorous.
And perhaps that is what we love most about it.
Over the years, our DreamGroup planners have supported many celebrations at Cecil Green, each one feeling wonderfully different from the last.
So rather than simply tell you why we love this venue, we thought we would show you through four beautiful DreamGroup weddings.

Olive You Always & Forever: Laura + Daniel
Romantic. Textural. Meaningful. And filled with personality.
Laura and Daniel’s Cecil Green wedding beautifully embraced the natural character of the property while adding a warm palette of olive green, burgundy, dusty rose, blush, and gold.
Their Jewish ceremony took place on the lawn beneath a beautifully draped chuppah surrounded by organic florals. Against Cecil Green’s gardens and towering trees, the entire setting felt wonderfully integrated into the landscape.
On the terrace, layers of candlelight, scalloped stationery, olive green napkins, soft florals, and thoughtful little details transformed the reception into something warm, inviting, and elegant.
And because sometimes wedding magic simply cannot be planned, the evening included one seriously unforgettable surprise: Max Kerman of The Arkells appeared to perform the couple’s first dance song live.
Yes. That happened.
It was personal, joyful, and one of those wedding moments everyone in the room will remember forever.

Hannah + Mac Sitting in a Tree
Sophisticated West Coast romance with a little personality.
Hannah and Mac took Cecil Green in an entirely different direction.
Their design was sophisticated and organic, combining crisp black and white with deep greenery and warm, earthy elements. The result felt polished without being overly formal — exactly the kind of effortless West Coast elegance this venue wears so well.
Their garden celebration made the most of Cecil Green’s beautiful surroundings, while every decision kept the guest experience in mind.
From the music and décor to food, beverages, timing, and all the little details in between, Hannah and Mac wanted their guests to feel genuinely looked after.
DreamGroup planner Cayenne Gartside also remembers the flow of this wedding as one of its biggest successes. Nothing felt hurried, nothing dragged, and every important moment happened when it should.
That seemingly effortless experience is very much the goal.

Autumn Romance: Holly + Ming
Holly and Ming are proof that a Cecil Green wedding doesn’t have to be overly grand in scale to feel incredibly special.
Their intimate daytime celebration began with a ceremony on the lawn, followed by cocktails on the terrace and a beautiful lunch reception inside the Yorkeen Room.
The palette was fresh and romantic, with soft pastel florals, greenery, and touches of light blue inspired by one of Holly’s favourite colours.
Their ceremony florals were thoughtfully repurposed for the reception, where they framed the sweetheart table and mantel beautifully. It was a wonderful example of creating impact while allowing design elements to work double duty throughout the day.
This particular wedding also holds a special place in DreamGroup planner Jessie Kumagai’s memories.
During planning, Holly and Ming learned that their originally selected venue might not reopen due to pandemic restrictions. DreamGroup quickly pivoted with the couple and Cecil Green Park House ultimately became their new wedding home.
Sometimes Plan B has a rather lovely way of feeling like it should have been Plan A all along.

Then there was Christiana and Andrew.
If the previous weddings demonstrate Cecil Green’s organic and garden-inspired side, this celebration shows just how beautifully the venue can carry something decidedly more glamorous.
Following a traditional ceremony at St. Augustine’s Parish, guests arrived at Cecil Green Park House for a reception inspired by the elegance of a modern Royal Wedding.
The feeling was romantic, timeless, and refined.
Every detail had been thoughtfully considered — from Christiana’s classic bridal style and lush florals to beautiful rentals, live music, and even custom-scented candles creating an additional sensory layer within the reception.
One of DreamGroup planner Sydney Power’s favourite decisions was scheduling speeches during cocktail hour. It created an engaging moment for guests while allowing Christiana and Andrew to relax, take everything in, and enjoy a little more of their celebration before dinner began.
It is exactly the kind of thoughtful timeline decision that can subtly change the entire rhythm of a wedding day.
Elegant? Absolutely.
But more importantly, personal.

After supporting over 50 weddings in the past decade at Cecil Green, there are a few things that continue to stand out for our DreamGroup planners.
The setting is undeniably Vancouver.
Beautiful gardens, mature trees, water and mountain views create an incredible backdrop without ever making the venue feel overly manicured or impersonal.
It already has character.
