1. Communicate quickly and clearly:

  • Respond to emails promptly.
  • Keep your vendors “in the know” and cross check all updates so decisions made aren’t forgotten or overlooked.
  • Follow up on outstanding questions and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Guide you through the planning process, always being two steps ahead so you’re not left wondering what’s happening next or feeling “in the dark”.
  • Not just be an “assistant” simply forwarding contracts and proposals without review, but rather take the time to provide insight and a breakdown of the services within each area so the client understands what they are receiving, allowing decisions to be made with confidence.

You are such a special, good-to-the-core person and a beautiful, gentle soul – not to mention so FUN! You’ve touched our lives in such a meaningful way. We are incredibly grateful for you and forever your # 1 fans!  Your contribution in making our day so special can NOT be overstated. From the start, you made us feel so comfortable and you helped us hone our vision into a reality that was turned out even better than what we expected. You did the impossible – you made wedding planning FUN. You were there for every decision, helping guide us, and centering us toward our original vision. Your knowledge and coordination with our vendors to get us exactly what we wanted meant so much to us.
Your vendor recommendations were always spot on. You had thought of everything, often before we even knew to think about it! You calmed our nerves, talked us down off (many) ledges, and answered all of our annoying emails/texts with compassion, patience and understanding (responding in no more than 2.5 seconds – HOW DO YOU DO IT?!) We are sure you put out a million fires for us and helped us in more ways than we even know about! 
You truly listened to our priorities and made them your priorities, and for that we can’t thank you enough. We feel so lucky to have had you as our partner in making this dream day/weekend happen. Your attention to detail and ability to communicate were exactly what we needed when trying to plan a wedding from across the continent. You are organized, knowledgeable, kind and so incredibly talented at what you do. We felt like you wanted our day to be as special as we wanted it to be and that gave us such peace of mind. 3. Be adaptable and flexible:

  • Be prepared to accommodate different planning styles and client personalities because everyone is different in how they receive information and make decisions.
  • Find ways to ensure that the client feels “heard” and their goals and priorities understood.
  • Roll with the punches and know that ideas can change and with that comes time required to make edits and adapt plans to evolve them in a better direction.

1000% Recommend ~ We really debated on hiring a planner for our wedding; and let me tell you – it was the greatest decision we made. Sydney Power was a friend from the first day we met on a zoom meet and greet. She rolled with our ever-changing punches over 20 months, and eased every irrational anxiety and worry that came up. The best compliment we received from a guest after the wedding was how relaxed we looked and how much fun we were having on the day compared to other weddings they had been to. We fully credit this to Sydney (and her assistant on the day Laura who also is a GEM).
Not only did Sydney help us find and pick the most amazing vendor dream team, she helped us navigate family dynamics, last minute venue layout changes, fixed problems before we even knew there was one, and truly became a friend in the process. On the wedding day she was somehow everywhere all at once, setting up our perfect reception space, handling all our vendors and deliveries, and also always there to make sure my dress was perfectly fluffed.
A week post wedding she is still making sure we are doing well and helping us wrap up all the post-wedding to-dos.
