It’s like Raine On Your Wedding Day!

 In Branding, Media

Raine & Christopher were married on a lovely summer day in August at the historic Stanley Park Pavilion in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Surrounded by their family and friends, they joined their lives in marriage with a little bit of tradition and a lot of love.  DreamGroup planner Sandy Hoong was on hand to support the celebration.  Photos by the talented Angela Doyle of Westluxe Studios tell the beautiful story of It’s like Raine On Your Wedding Day!  Spoiler Alert: It didn’t rain!

What was the theme, colours, and overall feeling?

Christopher and Raine wanted a minimalist feel for their wedding with the main “colours” being white and green.  They didn’t want to upstage the natural beauty of Stanley Park Pavilion’s garden setting with distracting colours.

What were the highlights of this wedding for you? What did you love most Sandy?

This wedding was extra special as the couple involved all their guests in a ring-warming ceremony.  The Ring Warming Ceremony is an old Irish tradition that originated to infuse the wedding rings with love and blessings from all of the couple’s family and friends. By passing the rings through the hands of all the guests, the ring receives good wishes and postive energy.  We were able to have all the guests bless the rings before the ceremony and then had the parents and wedding party do it during the ceremony.  It was so symbolic and powerful!

Were there any “eek” moments?

Sort of yes.  Raine had her heart set on having an outdoor garden ceremony (as most brides do when hosting an August wedding), but surprinsigly during the week in lead up to the wedding the forecast called for rain that weekend!  As much as we didn’t want to, we had to prepare for the inclement weather so we purchased 70 umbrellas the day before the wedding so the guests could stay dry in the event the weather didn’t turn around.  After some morning showers, we lucked out and the sun broke through the clouds just in the nick of time for Raine & Chris to be married (without umbrellas) in the beautiful garden! Phew!

What was the most successful part of the day?

The most successful part for me was that we planned the timeline seamlessly to allow for everything to be carried out in a nice relaxed way and that Raine & Chris were able to fully enjoy themselves without distractions or rushing through their day.  The sweetest part was when the bride’s father came up to me after dinner and told me how he didn’t think hiring a wedding planner was necessary, but that I proved him wrong and that in the end it was money well spent!  He loved how his daughter was so stress-free and able to enjoy herself on her special day.  He also said he could tell how genuinely passionate I was about my job and how much I cared. It was so nice to be appreciated!
