Champagne & Roses at The Vancouver Club
Vincent and Victoria’s wedding felt like a romantic real life fairytale with a touch of elegant and cool mixed in. With rosegold tones, champagnge, quicksand roses, baby’s breathe, candlelight, and decadent cuisine, this celebration had all the right touches! One of the design highlights was the sweetheart table nestled in the charming alcove of The Vancouver Club’s stunning ballroom. The room was abundant with gorgeous florals lovingly designed by Dushan Flowers including suspended florals hanging from above. DreamGroup planner Sandy Hoong was on hand to support the occasion. What were the highlights of Vincent & Victoria’s wedding?
It was an absolute honour working with Victoria and Vincent to bring their wedding vision to life. I loved how Victoria included a lot of interactive events so she could keep her guests entertained. She was very thoughtful and came up with the idea for a flower wrap station with ribbons so guests could take the flowers home. It was a HUGE hit! Guests LOVED being able to create their arrangements and take a little piece of the magic home with them at the end of the night! She also hand wrote each of her guests a beautiful note expressing her thanks which was such a lovely and thoughtful thing to do.

What was the most successful part of the day?
Seeing everything come toegther so beautifully with a short turnaround time for planning! The couple booked me just 3 months before the wedding. They were building a new home and then went to Asia for an entire month, returning less than 2 weeks before the wedding. It was a whirlwind of quick planning in lead up with lots of back and forth correspondance to get everything finalized on time. I handled it with great flexibility and quick thinking. Vincent and Victoria’s VIP guests were of utmost importance to them and they really wanted to ensure they were impressed. In the end, the guests were all blown away by how beautiful it looked and how interactive the wedding was.
What did you learn?
I learned that adaptability and quick thinking are hugely important when troubleshooting unexpected changes to the plan. Even a “small change” can have a ripple effect on the design expectations. Having an experienced and caring vendor team and clear communication with your client is the difference between disapointing outcomes and joyful ones!
