Wedding Wisteria at The Vancouver Club
Wedding Wisteria at The Vancouver Club as conceptualizedand produced by Bonnie Wong.
We are well into Spring and what a better way to enjoy it than with a wisteria inspired intimate wedding? This editorial was inspired by blooming wisteria in Paris in the springtime. It is possible to create a destination experience with the right details in mind (without having to physically travel). We’re so excited to share this refined and elegant shoot!
This editorial is featured on The White Wren and we’re absolutely thrilled!
This editorial took place at The Vancouver Club, a true heritage gem in the city. The ceremony and intimate dinner was held in the Georgian Room displaying high vaulted ceilings and original gilded molding.
The benefits of having an intimate wedding include a more relaxed timeline and a more manageable budget. Having planned celebrations of different scales, I realized it is truly not the size of a wedding that makes it special, but the meaningful details that are incorporated into the plan.
Our bride started off the day in a luxurious silk slip and elegant floor-length lace robe by Davie & Chiyo for some boudoir photos before slipping into a long sleeved ceremony gown by Daalarna Couture.
Katrina of Artistry Collective styled our bride’s hair in a tousled, low chignon and worked her magic to create a flawless, glowing and natural bridal look.
Karla of Written Word Calligraphy created a classic stationery suite featuring a monogram in calligraphy and envelope liner with hand-painted baroque illustrations. She selected a bold terra cotta color for the invitation envelope, detail card and place card to give a pop of color and contrast from the soft cream color invitation.
Myrtle et Olive Floral & Event Design created a ceremony backdrop inspired by blooming wisteria in the springtime.
After exchanging vows under the wisteria arch, our couple and close family enjoyed a relaxed cocktail hour at the lounge area with classic linen & oak furniture from Bespoke Décor.
The night continued with an intimate candlelit dinner with immediate family at a long table dressed in taupe velvet linens. The beauty of an intimate wedding is that you can go over the top with luxurious details for the table scape.
Each table setting flaunted a set of Medusa Gala serving ware by Versace Home to bring a touch of gold baroque detail and luxury to the table scape.
While guests enjoyed champagne and canapés our bride stepped away to change her gown and hairstyle. Her second gown featured a plunging semi-sheer bodice and chiffon bottom for a more relaxed look for the rest of the evening.

Guests enjoyed a piece of the all white two-tiered buttercream cake crafted by Cake by Nicole. The cake, decorated with delicate wafer paper flowers, was inspired by the floral appliques on the bride’s long sleeved gown.
We hope this editorial inspires you to continue to celebrate and start the next chapter of “happily ever after”. Just reach out and leave the planning to us!
To thank their guests, the couple curated a thank you gift for guests to enjoy after the wedding including champagne, Laduree confections, monogram pin by Lark & Ives, and a hand decorated sugar cookie by Cake by Nicole.
