A Midsummer Night’s Dream
The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel’s Star Sapphire Ballroom was transformed into a magical, enchanted forest inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. The color pallet consisted of various shades of sage green, ivory & neutral pastels. Sally & Sean worked with DreamGroup planner Jessie Kumagai in a full planning capacity to bring this beautiful celebration to life!

“Sally & Sean were a wonderful couple to work with! They both really wanted an elevated wedding with a focus on top-quality food in a beautiful & luxurious setting with some “wow” factor.” ~ Jessie Kumagai
They started off their day at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel with Chinese door games and a traditional tea ceremony.
…
After their 1st look, the wedding party headed off for a photoshoot at the Vancouver Art Gallery, followed by a Catholic ceremony at Holy Rosary Cathedral. They returned to the Pac Rim for an evening reception filled with great food, and live entertainment. Beautiful floral & décor and a high-energy dance party completed the occasion!
…
Their cocktail hour featured a variety of passed canapes, roast suckling pig station and a Peking duck station. “His” & “Hers” signature cocktails, a Polaroid guestbook, a live trio, and a beautiful monogrammed ice sculpture were also highlights!

At the entrance of the ballroom, there was a beautiful fountain with cascading florals & greenery. This led to a gorgeous dance floor in the centre of the ballroom wrapped in sage green with the couple’s custom monogram, and a twinkly-lit tree which appeared to grow out of the dance floor and into the ceiling. The lush ceiling installation was filled with hanging greenery & wisteria, and spanned the whole area of the dance floor.
…
The couple’s grand entrance into the room was a spectacular production with low-lying fog filling the dance floor as they entered and went straight into their 1st dance…a beautiful “dancing in the misty forest” scene.
…
The dinner reception featured a 2nd beautiful ice sculpture at the bar which included a luge, bubble tea station, late-night snacks & photobooth.

The couple’s sweetheart table was set on a white stage, with their 4-tier cake on a clear pillar on one side, and clear podium wrapped in sage green with their custom monogram on the other side. This was all adorned with more greenery, floral and pillar candles in varying heights, and also had a beautiful backdrop of elegant draping, greenery pillars and beautiful lush floral arrangements.
…
The guest tables were a mix of long and round tables, covered in a stonewash grey linen with elegant and comfortable Louis chairs. The tables all featured tall centerpieces surrounded by pillar candles in varying heights at the base. Each guest’s place setting featured gold-beaded charger plates, stonewash grey napkins, and a circular menu with a gold butterfly accent. Place cards with wax seals indicated entrée selections and lovely scented candles were the guest favors.

What was the most successful part of the day for you Jessie?
Seeing Sally and Sean’s faces when they entered the ballroom and hearing their words of appreciation during their speech made me so happy! The groom said he didn’t know what to expect and just wanted a ‘nice event’, but he was blown away by how fabulously everything turned out. I also received many praises and thanks from the couple’s family.
