The Rundown

Venue: From day one The Polygon Gallery was the only place for this shoot. It’s a blank slate allowing you to make it your own and transform it into whatever vibe you’re going for.

Photography: This was not going to be a mainstream shoot, and as such it was important to have a non-mainstream photographer at the helm. We were so blessed that Tomasz Wagner was stoked about this concept and joined the team right off the top! Tomasz brings an eye and style like no other.

Décor: As far as colors, black was definitely going to have a major presence in this shoot, and nothing was better suited for this look then Loungeworks Avenue Collection of black on black inventory. The Avenue black bar back, bar, dining table and round bar backs were to die for!  Just the right statement pieces.  Koncept Event Design provided the tabletop décor and mirror pillars (welcome sign and cake stands) adding a touch of sophistication.  Little Rose Party Company designed a fabulous matte black balloon install which was a definite wow piece.

Floral Design: Floral genius Maxime Vialade of Écorce Flowers brought in softer elements which gave the overall space more dimension and created stunning & sculptural floral pieces. He concentrated on white with a touch of silver with roses, babies breath, anthurium and palms (to name a few).

Stationery & Signage: Although acrylic and cardstock have been a continuing trend, it was important to mix it up for this shoot. Mirrors were used as the base for the signage and stationery complimenting the disco ball install from Loungeworks. Amari of Making Memories with Stationery designed the pieces and Printed By Ray provided the materials & laser printing & vinyl.  Both hit it out of the park!

Cuisine: It was a top priority that the cuisine featured was not only super luxurious but something you don’t normally see – enter Edge Catering.  As Vancouver’s premiere choice for luxury catering, Edge delivered absolute perfection with their unique custom menu created just for this shoot! It was total culinary artistry from beginning to end!

Cake: Tanya, from Le Gateau Bakeshop is a maverick when it comes to wedding cakes, so it was a no-brainer to collaborate with her on this shoot. Tanya brought in softer touches with her 3 cakes which helped balance out all the edgier pieces.

Hair + Makeup: Hair and makeup are such an integral (and beautiful) part of any shoot. Eugenia from Makeup by Supernova & her hair stylist, Yulia, are absolute masters at what they do. This shoot was about being effortlessly glam and Eugenia and Yulia most definitely hit the mark.

Fashion: It was important to have our models in 2 looks – one a bit more traditional, and the other a “party all night” outfit. For our groom, Bespoke Made Suits designed a custom tux that was SO slick. Our Groom was fully decked out for the first look and then we transitioned to a no shirt no tie look. As someone with his body almost entirely tattooed, I knew that a no-shirt look was essential. For our bride it was hard to choose, but it was the sexy yet understated Blake gown from Vagabond Bridal (available at Everly Fine Bridal), that was the final pick for the first look. For our bride’s second look, we chose Fern & Moon as they are the definition of cool bridal & their new Sam Crop with Portia Mini was the perfect selection.

Rings: Certanly it’s not a wedding without rings!  So we featured 3 gorge rings from the very popular Cavalier Gastown.

Making Memories with Stationery was on point with the design of the statement bar signs. Printed By Ray provided the materials & laser printing.

Le Gateau Bakeshop understood the assignment with this cake request creating not just one, but three complementary cakes that appeared to dance atop the dramatic mirrored pillars from Koncept Event Design
