The One Where They Finally Say “I Do” at The Vancouver Club

 In Branding, Media, Weddings

Charito and Scott’s elegant Vancouver Club wedding was extra special and oh so beautiful, mainly because of the two people getting married.  Every detail, every toast, every laugh, and every candlelit corner seemed to burst with love and positive vibes for them.

This celebration brought together 92 of the couple’s closest family and friends for a timeless evening filled with white orchids, candlelight, classic design, heartfelt ceremony moments, and personal travel-inspired details.

After 17 years together, Charito and Scott were ready to celebrate in a way that felt true to them: elegant, intimate, joyful, and full of love.  Step into their day “The One Where They Finally Say “I Do” at The Vancouver Club” as planned with Brynn Belisle and captured by Lumina.

Reflective and Serene in the Georgian Room

The day began with a calm and intimate getting-ready experience in the Vancouver Club’s Georgian Room. Charito spent the morning with Scott’s mom Marlene and Anita Lee of Helmet Salon, who created her polished bridal beauty look.  Scott got suited up with his Groomsmen in the Library.

From the very beginning, the tone of the day was relaxed, intentional, and full of anticipation. The Vancouver Club’s soft architectural details, classic mouldings, and warm natural light created the perfect backdrop for those quiet pre-ceremony moments before the celebration began.

A Romantic Ceremony Framed by White Florals and Candlelight

The ceremony took place in the Georgian Room, which was enhanced in the most perfect way with the creative talents and efforts of Divine Décor. Gold Chiavari chairs were dressed with flowing white chiffon, while pillar candles lined the aisle and gathered around the fireplace, creating a soft glow throughout the space.

At the front of the room, a lush white floral installation covered the mantle with roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus, greenery, and cascading phalaenopsis orchids. Two tall floral arrangements on white pillars framed the ceremony space, adding height, softness, and a sense of occasion.

The effect was classic without feeling overly formal. Romantic without being fussy. And perfectly suited to the timeless beauty of the Vancouver Club.

Scott’s lifelong friend Rick McDaniel officiated the ceremony, making the moment even more personal. As the doors opened and Charito entered in her gown from Novelle Bridal, carrying a white orchid bouquet, the room had that unmistakable hush — the one that happens when everyone knows they are witnessing something truly special.

A Wedding Design Rooted in Timeless Elegance

Following the ceremony, guests moved into the Vancouver Club’s Grand Ballroom for an elegant dinner reception. The room was arranged with round tables surrounding the dance floor, with the head table placed just inside the ballroom’s dreamy alcove.

Gold Chiavari chairs, white linens, antique silver charger plates, and candlelight created a polished foundation. However, the potted white phalaenopsis orchid centrepieces were the true focal point of the table design. They were simple, graceful, and intentional — adding height and beauty without overwhelming the room.

The choice of potted orchids also reflected the couple’s wish for a lower-waste celebration. Rather than using all cut florals, the orchids could be gifted after the wedding and enjoyed beyond the event itself. It was a thoughtful detail that felt both beautiful and purposeful.

The white orchids became one of the defining design elements of the day. They appeared in Charito’s bouquet, the ceremony florals, the reception centrepieces, Scott’s boutonniere, and on the wedding cake. This repetition created a cohesive look from ceremony to reception, while still allowing each space to feel distinct.

Lily from Divine Décor helped bring Charito’s vision to life in a way that felt refined, graceful, and deeply personal.

A Sweet Thank You for Brynn

“Brynn from DreamGroup was amazing to work with. She had all of the answers to all of our questions and made our wedding the best day of our lives. She has the experience to handle any issues that come up. I can’t recommend her any higher. She is the best.”

Travel-Inspired Details ~ Wherever You Will Go…

Charito and Scott share a love of travel, and their reception details gave guests a beautiful glimpse into their adventures together.

Their seating chart was designed as a world map with the playful phrase, “Where in the world are you sitting?” Each table was named after one of the couple’s favourite countries they had visited together. The custom table cards featured personal travel photos, including a memorable Nepal table inspired by their visit to Everest Base Camp.

Designed by Amari of Making Memories with Stationery, the stationery added a meaningful and stylish layer to the reception design. The black-and-white menus, black place cards with white lettering, and destination-inspired table cards created a crisp contrast against the white linens, silver chargers, and soft orchid centrepieces.

These are the details we love most.  Not just pretty, but personal. Not just decorative, but connected to the couple’s actual story.

First We Dine: A Classic Vancouver Club Dinner Experience

The guest experience was thoughtful from the moment everyone took their seats. Menus reading “First We Dine” were placed on white napkins set atop antique silver charger plates, setting the tone for a refined and celebratory meal.

The Vancouver Club’s dinner service was polished and beautifully presented, with plated courses that matched the elegance of the room. From the composed starters to the warm dinner entrées and late-night treats, the food experience felt elevated and personal.  As always, The Vancouver Club offered an impressive service throughout the evening — attentive, smooth, and quietly confident.

A White Orchid Cake Moment by Le Gateau Bakeshop

The cake display was one of the prettiest reception moments of the evening. Le Gateau Bakeshop created a classic two-tier white wedding cake adorned with cascading white orchids. Surrounding it were four stands of elegant white floral cupcakes, displayed on crystal-accented risers over softly draped satin.

The result was timeless and feminine, with just the right amount of sparkle. It also tied beautifully into the larger wedding design, carrying the orchid motif through to one of the evening’s sweetest moments.

A Thoughtful Reception Flow and a Joyful Dance Party

Charito and Scott chose to begin the reception with their first dance, which created a lovely transition into the evening. It also allowed the schedule to feel relaxed and natural, with dinner and speeches following without the night feeling too full or rushed.

About Town Entertainment set the mood for dinner and later for the dance floor. DJ Michael Tedham didn’t miss a beat.

As the night continued, Charito changed into a playful white floral mini dress and joined her guests on the dance floor. It was the perfect second-look moment — fun, confident, and full of personality. She also brought “dancing shoes” for the ladies, a thoughtful touch that was very much appreciated once the party was underway.

A Wedding Full of Heart, History, and Joy

What made this wedding especially memorable was not just the setting, the florals, or the beautiful details, although all of those were undeniably lovely. It was the feeling in the room.

You could tell that Charito and Scott’s guests were genuinely thrilled to be there. Their ceremony felt intimate and personal and the reception warm and celebratory. The design felt classic, but never impersonal. Every choice reflected who they are: stylish, thoughtful, adventurous, and deeply loved.

It was the kind of wedding that reminds us why planning matters. Not because every napkin, candle, and place card needs to be perfect for perfection’s sake, but because when the details are handled with care, the couple and their guests get to be fully present for what matters most.

And that is what makes it “Ridiculously Amazing”.
