Vancouver Convention Centre ~ 5 Weddings with DreamGroup
Few Vancouver wedding venues offer the same sense of scale, polish, and waterfront impact as the Vancouver Convention Centre. With floor-to-ceiling windows, North Shore mountain views, harbour backdrops, and access to outdoor terrace spaces, it gives couples the rare opportunity to host a wedding that feels both highly elevated and unmistakably Vancouver.
For weddings, some of the most popular spaces include the Level 2 West Ocean Foyer, which can host up to 220 guests and includes an outdoor patio ideal for ceremonies or cocktail receptions, the Level 3 Summit Ballroom, an exclusive space that features an outdoor balcony for soaking in the view; as well as a private room for ceremonies of up to 235 guests and a ballroom for up to 320 guests, and lastly, Level 1 West Ballroom, a larger banquet space suited to celebrations of 350 to 700+ guests. The Convention Centre is also home to Canada’s largest waterfront ballroom, offering incredible flexibility for grand-scale events.
What DreamGroup loves most about weddings at the Vancouver Convention Centre is the versatility. One wedding might feel sleek and modern with black-and-white styling, another might transform the space with tropical florals and rich velvet draping, while another might use the terrace, foyer, and reception room flow to create a layered guest experience from ceremony to cocktails to dinner and dancing. It is a venue that can hold a strong design vision beautifully, while also giving guests that unforgettable “we are in Vancouver” feeling from the moment they arrive.

Wedding #1: A Performance-Filled Celebration for Kat & Amani
Kat and Amani’s wedding at the Vancouver Convention Centre was a true celebration of atmosphere, movement, and meaningful personal details. The florals and décor by Koncept Event Design made a stunning first impression with unique design elements, like crystals and geodes, adding a unique layer of texture and personality to the room. With photography and video captured by Always Smiling Photography.
The guest experience was thoughtfully layered from start to finish. Their menu included shishito peppers as a sweet nod to the dish they always share at their favourite date night spot, while a mezcal cocktail brought their go-to drink into the celebration. Even the signage felt personal, featuring photos from their engagement shoot throughout the wedding day.
The entertainment moments were equally memorable. GirlOnWax brought the energy, with DJ Jai singing live during cocktail hour and the couple’s first dance. That first dance became even more impactful with choreography by JC Dance Co. and Sparkulars by JZ Entertainment and Events. Later, a sparkler exit on the patio gave guests one more unforgettable moment against the city’s waterfront backdrop.

Wedding #2: Moody Tropical Vibes for Aman & Simon
Aman and Simon’s dreamy Vancouver Convention Centre wedding brought a bold, moody tropical atmosphere to one of the city’s most iconic waterfront venues. Rather than leaning light and airy, the design embraced depth and drama through dark linens, rich green velvet draping, and vibrant tropical floral centrepieces by Hilary Miles Flowers. The result was lush, modern, and full of personality.
With Début Event Design supporting the décor vision, the room felt elevated and immersive without losing its sense of warmth. Pops of colour in the florals added energy against the darker foundation, creating a wedding look that felt both sophisticated and unexpected. Captured by Justine Boulin, the celebration showcased how beautifully the Vancouver Convention Centre can transform for couples wanting a wedding with mood, texture, and serious visual impact.

Wedding #3: Modern Blush & Black Wedding with Korean Paebaek Ceremony
Cynthia and Alex’s wedding, as supported by DreamGroup planner Jessie Kumagai, at the Vancouver Convention Centre, beautifully blended modern Vancouver elegance with meaningful Korean tradition. With more than half of their guests travelling in from out of town, including many from Toronto and Los Angeles, the celebration felt like a true destination-style gathering in the heart of the city. As captured by Vancouver photographer Leanne Sim.
The wedding took place on the West Level 2 Ocean Foyer, beginning with an outdoor ceremony on the terrace before moving indoors for cocktails, a traditional Paebaek ceremony, and dinner reception. During cocktail hour, the couple honoured Alex’s Korean heritage by incorporating the Paebaek — supported by Wedding Story in Vancouver — with Cynthia and Alex entering in ceremonial Korean wedding attire, bowing to family members, receiving blessings, and taking part in the joyful tradition of catching dates and chestnuts in the bride’s apron. The ceremony ended with Alex carrying Cynthia on his back around the room, a playful and symbolic display of strength that guests loved witnessing.
For the reception design, Cynthia envisioned a clean, chic, and modern look. A black-and-white palette set the foundation, while pale blush and mauve florals by Justyna Floral softened the overall aesthetic. Asymmetrical arrangements on tall black geo stands added height and drama, while black dining chairs, napkins, place cards, and candle holders from Divine Décor contrasted beautifully with ivory satin linens and menus.
Later in the evening, JZ Entertainment and Events kept the energy high with a lively table trivia-style musical chairs game hosted by DJ Jordan. Guests were all in, especially with a pair of Apple AirPods Pro on the line. Between the terrace views, cultural ceremony, modern design, and playful guest experience, this Vancouver Convention Centre wedding was sophisticated, personal, and full of memorable moments.

Wedding #4: Modern Glamour with Just a Few of Their “Friends”
Planned with DreamGroup Planner Bonnie Wong, this Vancouver Convention Centre wedding was modern, elegant, and beautifully glamorous, with the venue’s mountain and waterfront views creating an unforgettable Vancouver backdrop. Gloria and Saurabh’s ceremony space felt lush and elevated with towering greenery, soft white florals, and a glossy white aisle that brightened and elevated the space. Exquisitely captured by Blush Wedding Photography.
Inside the ballroom, the design continued with refined white seating, layered greenery, candlelight, and a spectacular ceiling installation by Dushan Flowers and Le Marais Decor, that transformed the room. With the addition of furniture by Social Ingredients and custom floor wrap and vinyl by Zabar Studio, the overall effect was polished and high-impact. Because of the couple’s love for the nostalgic TV Show Friends they sprinkled several fun references from the show into the wedding design. See if you can spot them!
For Bonnie, the highlight was seeing the exceptional Vendor Team and DreamGroup Assistants come together so seamlessly to bring the vision to life. It was also a reminder that experienced vendors make all the difference when timing is tight, especially for a production-heavy wedding with rigging, florals, installations, and room transformations in play.
