Mediterranean Elegance at The Polygon Gallery

 In Branding, Media, Weddings

Jennie and Joe’s stunning wedding at The Polygon Gallery offered a blend of cultures, family, waterfront elegance, and earthy Mediterranean-inspired design. Set in the heart of North Vancouver’s Shipyards District, The Polygon offers a contemporary canvas with city skyline views.  DreamGroup Planner Sandy Hoong supported a day rich with warmth, meaning, and a whole lot of personality. From a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to an Italian millefoglie cake moment, this was a celebration like no other. Mediterranean Elegance at The Polygon Gallery felt connected to the couple and the life they are building together.

Photographer Kaoverii Silva captured the day with an artful eye, leaning beautifully into the modern architecture, natural light, and emotion-filled moments.

Anita Lee of Helmet Salon created Jennie’s hair and makeup looks, transitioning beautifully from the tea ceremony to the ceremony and reception. Jennie’s gown from Kleinfeld Bridal was timeless in design and Joe looked classic and polished in formalwear from The Tux Store.

A Waterfront Ceremony with City Skyline Views

The ceremony took place inside The Polygon Gallery with the harbour and Vancouver city skyline offering the most stunning backdrop. Beneath sparkling chandeliers, Jennie and Joe exchanged vows surrounded by soft greenery and stunning florals. The ceremony florals masterfully designed by Dushan Flowers brought a grounded, organic feeling to the contemporary gallery space. White blooms, olive-inspired greenery, and caramel-toned floral accents softened the room while allowing the view to remain the showstopper.  The result was earthy, refined, and quietly luxurious.

One of the most meaningful design details? The potted olive trees. Jennie and Joe purchased them early in the season and nurtured them all summer so they could be incorporated into the design for the wedding. That single detail added so much heart. It was personal, symbolic, and beautifully in keeping with the Mediterranean feeling of the celebration. The reception design with Le Marais Decor layered white linens, clear and white seating, candlelight, olive-toned stationery, gold flatware, soft neutral textures, and lush greenery. Their pieces helped transform the modern gallery into a warm, romantic dining space while still honouring the clean architectural style of the venue.

A Tea Ceremony Moment

Jennie and Joe honoured family with a traditional tea ceremony. Jennie wore a beautiful pink and red floral qipao, adding a vibrant and meaningful contrast to the soft white and green palette seen throughout the rest of the wedding. The opportunity to include a tea ceremony in the wedding day brings generations together in a way that feels intimate, respectful, and full of love.

A Seating Chart Moment Worth Pausing For

The couple’s seating chart was a gorgeous feature moment. “Our Favourite People” welcomed guests with understated elegance, while candles, tropical greenery, and olive branches grounded the installation with warmth and texture. Designed with Violet Grey Creative, the stationery carried through the day with a green floral accents, delicate typography, and thoughtful table details. From the seating chart to the table numbers and place cards, the paper details felt polished without overpowering the design.

Dinner, Candlelight, and a Room Full of Favourite People

For the reception, long tables filled the gallery beneath statement crystal chandeliers. A mix of white Dior Chairs & Clear Princess Chairs, glowing taper candles, and delicate floral details created a layered look that felt fresh, airy, and very romantic.

White Table Catering brought the dining experience to life with thoughtful hospitality. Their approach emphasizes personal details, meaningful menu moments, and a cohesive guest experience, which aligned perfectly with Jennie and Joe’s celebration.

The Sweetest Italian Finale

One of Sandy’s favourite parts of the wedding was the abundance of dessert. She learned that Italian families can bring an incredible amount of homemade desserts to a wedding day — and honestly, we love this lesson. The dessert experience included a beautiful Italian millefoglie cake by Cakes by Peddie. The cake cutting ceremony, serended by Joe’s cousin, was charming, personal, and so much more than just a cake-cutting moment. It became a family performance, a cultural nod, and a delicious memory all rolled into one. The cake was layered with delicate pastry, cream, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar — elegant, unfussy, and perfect.

Entertainment with Personality

Jennie and Joe’s celebration was filled with performances and family-led moments that kept the evening joyful and deeply personal. A family hockey dance performed by the groom’s niece and nephew enveloped the room with laughter and genuine connection. Live Music & DJ services by Nikita Afonso carried the celebration from ceremony to reception in the most cohesive yet unexpected way. The Love Content was also there to capture behind-the-scenes moments and candid snippets throughout the day, giving Jennie and Joe another layer of storytelling beyond the formal photography.

Planner Perspective

For Sandy, the highlight of Jennie and Joe’s wedding was how authentic and personal the day felt. Every moment had a reason. Every performance, dessert, design choice, and tradition felt connected to the couple.  Jennie was so happy with how the overall decor vision came together — and it’s easy to see why. From the olive trees to the candlelit tables, millefoglie, to live performances — the day felt personal from start to finish. Jennie and Joe’s wedding was a perfect reminder that great design is not always about how a wedding looks. It is about how it feels, what it honours, and the stories it gives guests to remember.
