Olive You Always & Forever at Cecil Green
Set amongst the beautiful heritage architecture and lush gardens of Cecil Green Park House, Laura and Daniel’s Vancouver Wedding felt deeply personal and breathed an authenticity so many couples hope for. DreamGroup planner Cayenne Gartside supported a day filled with beautiful Jewish traditions, joyous romance, inspiring energy, and an unexpected celebrity guest performance! The celebration was thoughtful, elegant, full of personality, and reflected Laura and Daniel so naturally. Getting Ready with Personality
The day began at Cecil Green in the library, creating the perfect backdrop for all the getting-ready moments. Laura’s sleek satin gown was understated and chic — modern, softly dramatic, and effortlessly elegant.
With makeup and hair by Alisha Hopps, her look was fresh and romantic. Laura’s personal style totally shone through!

Daniel and his wedding party kept things classic in dark formalwear from Moores, accented by olive green bow ties.
The overall look was equal parts polished and playful.

Olive Green, Gold and Soft Autumn Tones
Laura and Daniel’s wedding design was full of small, carefully chosen details that made the day feel distinctive. Their stationery suite and napkins featured soft scalloped edges, graceful lettering and subtle green accents, while illustrated matchboxes added a whimsical, personal touch.
Throughout the celebration the perfect autumn colour olive green was feathered into the design in Daniel’s bow tie, ribbon accents, the dinner napkins and thoughtful stationery. These olive green moments grounded the design and gave us the opportunity for a perfect blog title! Wink wink.
The floral direction, brought to life by Petal Talk, was especially striking. The floral arrangements felt wonderfully organic and a little unexpected — blending soft white hydrangea, dusty mauve roses, antique-toned dahlias and airy grasses with dramatic burgundy foliage. The result was romantic yet textural, as though the gardens of Cecil Green had been thoughtfully considered into the design. Laura’s bouquet had movement and softness with beautiful colour and texture.

A Modern + Meaningful Jewish Wedding Ceremony
Laura and Daniel exchanged vows outdoors on the lawn at Cecil Green Park House beneath a beautifully adorned chuppah. Draped fabric and abundant, asymmetrical florals framed the ceremony space, allowing the surrounding trees and garden to play a fabulous supporting role.
With Rabbi Susan Shamash officiating, the ceremony thoughtfully incorporated Jewish traditions in a way that felt deeply meaningful to the couple and their families. A beautiful ketubah and roamantic chuppah became the visual and emotional heart of the ceremony.
As the newlyweds made their way back up the aisle together, surrounded by cheering guests and floating petals, the joy on their faces said everything. It was a bright, celebratory moment that perfectly captured the feeling of their day.

Planner Love…
“If we could give Cayenne 10 stars, we would!!! She is hands-down the BEST person you could ever dream of having for your wedding. From day one, she was unbelievably organized, lightning-fast with communication, and such a joy to work with. Every question was answered, every detail was handled with care, and she made the entire planning process feel easy and organized.
And then came the wedding day…. Cayenne was our superhero. She worked a 15+ hour day with a huge smile, kept everything running flawlessly, and somehow managed to make us feel completely calm and cared for. We were able to be totally present, soak up every moment, and never once worry about what was happening behind the scenes, because we knew she had it all handled.
She treated our friends and family with so much warmth and kindness, anticipated needs we didn’t even know we had, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our day was truly the most magical, meaningful day of our lives, and it was even better than we dreamed, thanks to her.
If you are even considering hiring Dreamgroup and Cayenne, DO IT. You will not find anyone more dedicated, professional, kind, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We feel so lucky that she was part of our day and we will never forget how at peace and taken care of we felt knowing she was there.”

Garden Romance Meets Historic Charm
One of the reasons Cecil Green is such a special Vancouver wedding venue is the character and flexibility it offers. It’s like a warm hug with its beautiful fireplaces, warm wood accents, featuring gorgeous views and a covered outdoor terrace.
The reception design continued the ceremony’s elegant but natural aesthetic. With décor by Evergreen Events, along with thoughtfully included rentals from Bespoke Decor and Element Event Solutions, the tables felt inviting, layered and beautifully considered.
Long tables were accented with olive green napkins, delicate scalloped stationery, and bud vases filled with stunning florals. Burgundy, dusty rose and soft blush flowers added subtle richness in contrast to the clean white linens creating a season-complementary look that was warm and refined.
As the light softened, the warm glow from the candles transformed the gathering into an intimate evening celebration. Sage Catering provided hands on service and delcious fare.

Planner’s Perspective:
“Everything aligned exactly to plan. Everyone did their part, and it was my smoothest, most stress-free wedding of the season. The planning experience also gave me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of Jewish traditions which are so meaningful and beautiful.” ~ Cayenne Gartside

A First Dance Surprise to Remember
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night came during the evening celebrations. Unbeknownst to the couple, Max Kerman of The Arkells responded to a DM from the Bride sent a few months prior sharing how much they both adored the band, showing up to perform their first dance song live!
It was the kind of wedding moment that simply cannot be recreated — unexpected, emotional and completely unforgettable. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Laura and Daniel shared a second turn at their first dance serenaded by Max.
Music for the day was also supported by Greg Neufeld through Musos Entertainment, who provided both live music and DJ entertainment, carrying the celebration from meaningful ceremony and cocktail ambiance into an evening of dancing and fun!
