A Little Sax, A Lot of Simcha, and One Unforgettable Jewish Wedding
When Tess and Matthew imagined their wedding day, they knew they wanted a celebration that felt timeless, joyful, meaningful, and full of unforgettable energy — and with DreamGroup Planner Sydney Power by their side, that vision came beautifully to life at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. From the elegant white and gold design to the spirited Jewish traditions, live saxophone moments, and a dance floor that truly delivered, this was a wedding that blended classic romance with full-hearted celebration in the most DreamGroup way. Let’s revisit this memorable October day in Vancouver with A Little Sax, A Lot of Simcha, and One Unforgettable Jewish Wedding as captured by Meghan Hemstra.

A little love for the planner…
If we could give Sydney 10 stars, we would.
We had the absolute joy of working with Sydney Power to plan our 230-person wedding at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, and we can honestly say we don’t know how we could have done it without her. From day one, Sydney went above and beyond. She was calm, organized, thoughtful, and completely on top of every single detail.
Our wedding wasn’t a simple one. It was a large event with multiple pre-ceremony gatherings, a detailed timeline, and so many moving parts. Yet Sydney handled it all with such grace and ease. She was responsive, patient, and kind throughout the entire year of planning, guiding us through every decision with clarity and care. She always made us feel supported, reassured, and heard, no matter how big or small the question.
On the day of the wedding, Sydney was everywhere and somehow always in the right place at the right time. She kept everything running flawlessly, handled any hiccup before we even knew about it, and brought such a calm, grounding energy that allowed us to truly relax and be present. From checking in on us at the perfect moments to coordinating our entire vendor team seamlessly, she ensured the day flowed beautifully from start to finish.
Sydney truly has a gift for what she does. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and warm personality made the entire experience not only stress-free but genuinely enjoyable. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of (and more), and it’s entirely thanks to her hard work, care, and expertise.
Sydney, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so magical. You are the absolute best at what you do, and we feel incredibly lucky to have had you by our side through this journey.

Classic White & Gold at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
There are wedding days that feel beautiful from the very first moment. Then, there are wedding days that feel alive — full of movement, music, meaning, and joy. This elegant Jewish wedding at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver was very much the latter.
With a timeless white, gold, black, and greenery palette, this celebration brought together refined style, heartfelt tradition, and an unforgettable party atmosphere. From the emotional ceremony moments to the energy of live music leading guests from one space to the next, every part of the day felt intentional, elevated, and full of life.

A Classic and Timeless Wedding Design
The overall design embraced a truly classic and timeless aesthetic. A refined palette of white and gold, accented with hints of black and lush greenery, created a look that felt polished, romantic, and effortlessly sophisticated.
The reception space featured a beautiful mix of long tables and romantic round tables, giving the room a sense of balance and movement. Candlelight added warmth throughout the evening, glowing softly against layers of white florals and rich green foliage.
Together, the design created a setting that felt both regal and inviting — a celebration steeped in elegance, warmth, and everlasting romance.

A Joyful Jewish Wedding Celebration
This wedding was especially meaningful as it was one of the largest Jewish weddings DreamGroup Planner Sydney Power has had the pleasure of producing. With that came a beautiful collection of traditions, special moments, and an energy that carried throughout the entire day.
One of the biggest highlights was the addition of live music wherever possible. Sax with Eric helped lead the charge during the Tish, Bedecken, and guest movement between spaces, creating such a fun and celebratory atmosphere.
Rather than simply transitioning from one moment to the next, guests were swept into the experience. The music brought people together, kept the energy high, and added such a memorable layer to the day.

Live Music, Meaningful Moments, and an Incredible Party
From the very beginning, it was clear that this wedding was going to be full of joy. The couple wanted their guests to feel connected, celebrated, and completely immersed in the day — and that feeling came through beautifully.
Between the live saxophone moments, the elegant Fairmont setting, and the packed dance floor led by Side One, the celebration had such a wonderful sense of flow. It felt classic, but never stiff. Elegant, but still full of personality. Sophisticated, but completely fun.

A Wedding Day That Came Together Beautifully
One of the most successful parts of the day was how smoothly everything came together. With a wedding of this size and so many moving parts, timing is always a major focus. Aside from a few speeches running longer than planned, the day stayed remarkably on track.
Even more importantly, everyone was having the best time. Guests were present, engaged, and joyful. The couple was surrounded by love. The room looked incredible. The music was fantastic. And every carefully planned detail found its place.
Those are the wedding days we love most — the ones where the planning, design, logistics, and emotion all come together in a way that feels effortless to the guests, but deeply rewarding behind the scenes.
