East Meets West at The Stanley Park Pavilion
San Francisco couple Emily & Rahim planned their destination wedding at the Stanley Park Pavilion in Vancouver. They wanted a ‘hybrid’ wedding that would honour both Emily and Rahim’s backgrounds, cultures & traditions. For their wedding ceremony, they opted to do a traditional signing of papers with the religious leaders from the local Ismaili Jamatkhana. As supported by DreamGroup planner Jessie Kumagai.

The Details…

Time to Get Married!

Emily & Rahim had a symbolic and meaningful ceremony officiated by one of their close friends. The ceremony included readings from the Bible and the Quran. The Ismaili religious leaders were invited up towards the end to do the exchange of rings and pronouncement of marriage. The couple’s guitarist friend provided the wonderful ceremony music for all to hear. Cocktails & Reception were then enjoyed by all inside the Tea Room and Ballroom.

To create a hybrid look for this “East meets West” wedding, the bride wanted to combine a beautiful colour palette of deep burgundy, terracotta, gold & copper with some modern garden elements and a west-coast feel. The team at Ruffled Rose added pops of colour with beautiful fresh blooms and gold & copper lanterns and vases offered dimension to the long tables. The added greenery, romantic candlelight and vineyard chairs created the most beautiful atmosphere for Emily and Rahim.
