Josephine & Steffen met in Africa. They had an intimate wedding with 60 of their closest family and friends in attendance. With guests traveling from as far as Europe and Africa it was important to the couple that they showcase the best of Vancouver.

They chose two very special and iconic venues.

The ceremony took place next to the serene and lovely Heron Lake at Van Dusen Gardens and the weather fully cooperated! “It was actually one of the first nice weather days of the season.” The ceremony took place under a cute white tent which provided much needed shade from the sun’s rays!

Bridges Restaurant on Granville Island was brought to life with beautiful and bright centerpieces featuring Josephine’s favorite flower, Peonies, which luckily became available just days before their wedding. Peonies are often a bride’s first choice when choosing her flowers as they are so fluffy and romantic, however, they are also temperamental and seasonally affected.

Mother Nature obviously approved of this union!

And thankfully the amazingly talented Kim of Maru Fine Art Photography was there to capture it all.

A gorgeous natural arbor rented from Reel Silks and covered in fresh floral by the flower masters themselves at The Flower Factory was delightful. Keeping with the romantic theme, guests threw fresh lavender offered in little bags upon pronouncement as husband and wife.

The head table was decorated with the garland re-purposed from the ceremony arbor. Josephine and Steffen authentically named their guest tables after cities they visited together. They wrote personal descriptions for each one that the guests loved reading!

The Band Groove & Tonic was a fabulous addition to the night’s line up and they kept the guests dancing all night long! A popular guest highlight was the oh so fun candy bar that featured the couple’s favorite candies from Germany.
