..Sara & Zach had a specific vision for their modern Jewish wedding! It had to be bright! It had to be fun! And it had to be chic! Planner Highlights

“The client rented 3 spaces for their festivities (2 hotels & the Polygon Gallery) which made for a very busy day! They accommodated their large bridal parties for getting ready at separate hotels, another venue was used for all the Jewish ceremonial parts including the Tisch, Bedeken, & Signing of the Ketubah. The Polygon served as the celebratory space kicked off by a very rambunctious hora to set the mood.”

Breaking of the Glass Towards the end of the ceremony the groom is invited to step on a glass that is usually wrapped inside clear wrap and a cloth bag. The breaking of the glass holds multiple meanings. Some say it represents the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Others say it demonstrates that marriage holds sadness as well as joy and represents a commitment to stand by one another “in sickness and in health”. The broken glass is collected after the ceremony with many couples choosing to have them made into art as a keepsake.

Planner Perspective

“Sara loved the look and clean blank slate of the Polygon Gallery. It has a great patio for late night and a gorgeous view of the city! The floor plan included long tables for dinner with black bistro lights and delicate vines hanging from the ceiling. The Chuppah was draped with white drapery accented with delicate vines. Black napkins, black chairs, and black charger plates popped off the white table cloths beautifully creating that modern cool look Sara wanted. Tables were laden with vines wrapped in little lights accented with votive candles. The groom’s mother created a piece of artwork (black/pink/red/blue) that we used for all the stationery. The bouquets were super vibrant made up of hot pink and red blooms. So gorgeous!! The bridesmaids wore either hot pink or red dresses. The combination of it all was very dramatic and fabulous!”
