Fairytale Garden Romance
It’s true that a bride often has a vision that includes “Romantic” as a keyword for inspiration in planning the perfect wedding, but Katrina took this goal to host the perfect romantic celebration to the next level! This Fairytale Garden Romance was thoughtful and beautifully considered down to the very last detail. DreamGroup planner Sydney Power supported this playfully beautiful wedding hosted at the lovely VanDusen Gardens this past August. And to top it all off the wedding was recently featured on the lovely Confetti Magazine blog!

In your opinion what was the most successful part of the day Sydney?
Although so much of this wedding was perfection, much in part to Katrina’s diligence and thoughtfulness, the most successful part of the day from a planner’s perspective had to have been the timing! Even the most organized of weddings can run off schedule at times, but not this one! We ran on time and even ahead of schedule for most of the day! I attribute much of this to our wonderful Emcee who did a fabulous job in her role. She was so dedicated and supportive. It was lovely to have an extension of the bride (and someone who knows her so well) available for any questions or discussions.
The other thing that played a huge role in the day’s success was the caterer! Truffles Fine Foods absolutely blew me away! Their attention to detail and sincere desire to exceed expectations was refreshing and impressive! The food was fantastic, the service team was on the ball and always willing to jump in and help. You’d think this was a given, but it’s not always the case and really helped create an extra special experience for all involved. And I must give a shout out to the awesome events team at VanDusen Gardens! They were prompt, accessible, and what I like to call a “Yes Venue” — always providing solutions and support when needed. As a planner this is something I value so much when considering a venue for my clients.
The Reception held in the BMO Great Hall and Peggy Gunn Woodland Hall at VanDusen Gardens offered the perfect space.

Guests loved signing this creative “Guestbook” ~ A custom deck of cards that Katrina & Shawn can play with and cherish for years to come.
