Father of the Bride Vibes at Brock House

The vision was “Father of the Bride” tented garden chic. The venue was the stunning Brock House on Jericho Beach in Vancouver. A classic colour scheme of soft greens and crisp elegant whites and garden inspired florals featuring fluffy hydrangeas, delphiniums, and roses were a highlight! The design was kept simple and elegant, but added accents like mint green floral print napkins and a lovely, oversized hanging paper bar menu (designed and created by the bride herself) elevated the overall feel in the most beautiful way. First Look with the Father of the Bride…

Jessica’s Robert Bullock dress from Che Bella in Minneapolis, Minnesota was so bowtiful! Tee hee. Bows are a fabulous new trend in weddings that we are super excited about! In fact, Sydney says, “Jessica’s dress was easily one of my most favorites of all time!”

Maria of Niche Boutique Florals brought the vision to life in the most perfect way! When they arrived and started unloading the florals and assembling the pieces everyone was ooohing and ahhhing. You know it’s good when even the Vendors are impressed as we see a lot of beauty in our work!

What was the most successful part of the day?

I would say the most successful part would have to be the “Father of the Bride” vision coming to life in the most perfect way! It was so beautiful! And days later, when photos from the day were shared on social media I received several messages from vendors and friends saying how it reminded them of the Father of the Bride movie! I love it when the end result is clear to all as it means we did it right!

Have you heard about the Engaged Vancouver Wedding Show?

Were there any issues/challenges that arose?

Yes! The wind! It was competing for attention that day! We had to adjust some design plans to make sure things didn’t blow away, but overall it ended being only a small adventurous detail to overcome.

The prettiest soft green toile floral napkins were provided by Valley Weddings.

What was a highlight for you Sydney?

It is so easy to see the true love shared between Jess and Scott so for me, that was the highlight as I’m a true romantic through and through. I especially loved the cocktail napkins they had made which featured little excerpts from the “love notes” that Scott had written to Jess over the course of their relationship! Talk about setting the bar high for every other man!

What did you learn?

I learned how great the team at Peake Catering is! They did a wonderful job and were so attentive to making everything perfect! It was a pleasure to work with them! And the Seafood Buffet was a treat for all!
