Bridgerton Vibes at the Rosewood

 In Branding, Media
Erica and Sanders have always loved the Pacific Northwest so even though they reside in Washington, they knew they wanted to share Beautiful British Columbia with their guests and so chose Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver as their wedding destination. The ceremony and dinner reception were both set in the hotel’s beautiful Spanish Ballroom. The couple had a blast dancing up a storm with their guests.  They then switched things up with a little karaoke to end the night!  Join us as DreamGroup planner Jessie Kumagai shares the beautiful wedding story of Erica and Sanders… Bridgerton Vibes at the Rosewood as exquisitely captured by JuMi Story.

Tell us about this beautiful wedding Jessie…
Once the bridal party was all ready with hair and makeup, the day began with a special moment for the couple’s 1st look and exchange of private vows.  After tears were shed, they embarked on their wedding day adventure with the rest of their bridal party for an afternoon photoshoot.  They then returned to the Hotel to change into traditional attire for an intimate Chinese tea ceremony with their closet family members. Once the tea ceremony was over, there was a short afternoon break while the couple changed back into their wedding attire and had a chance to rest, relax and freshen up before the wedding ceremony.
.
Their bilingual wedding ceremony was officiated in English/Mandarin and featured the couple’s adorable dog Cookie walking down the aisle with the Ring Bearer.  They incorporated a touching unity candle ceremony to include participation from the mothers. Cocktail hour was a buzz with live string quartet music, passed canapes & signature drinks.  The photobooth guestbook & audio guestbook stations were a hit!

The Pre-Ceremony Photos…

Erica had Lucky Dog Walking Service on hand to make sure her sweet puppy Cookie had the best care!

Tell us more…
This was an absolutely gorgeous wedding with Bridgerton-garden vibes and an abundance of stunning florals in a beautiful color palette of various pastels. The bride Erica wanted LOTS of flowers and the arrangements to look very full…and she got exactly that.  There wasn’t a single part of the ballroom you could look at that wasn’t filled with flowers!
.
As guests arrived on the 2nd floor of the Rosewood Georgia Hotel, they were greeted by an elegant draped entrance in nude chiffon, an array of romantic pillar candles in various pastel shades, and a welcome sign in English/Korean/Chinese (the bride’s side was Korean, while the groom’s side was Chinese). The welcome table featured adorable photos of the couple from their pre-wedding shoot.  A beautiful seating chart was also displayed to show guests to their seats.
.
The promenade featured a clean, white bar which was lit-up and filled with florals along the base, and gold bar back shelves adorned with more floral along the top edge. The entrance to the ballroom presented another beautifully draped gateway with candles to compliment the initial entrance.
.
The hotel’s Spanish Ballroom was initially set for the ceremony with rows of comfortable Louis oak chairs, a clean white stage and aisle, and lush pastel floral arrangements in dynamic heights lining the full length of the aisle. Three gorgeous floral arches stood at the front of the room which served as a backdrop for the ceremony & reception. Once the ceremony was over, guests were led back out to the Promenade for cocktail hour while the ballroom was flipped for dinner.
.

What about the Reception Jessie?
The dinner reception set-up featured a combination of two long tables down the centre of the room, rows of round tables on the sides of the room and a romantic sweetheart table on stage which was covered in varying heights and clusters of floral arrangements and candles. The long tables featured tall ‘cloud-like’ floral arrangements with votives in hanging glass bulbs.  The tabletops were also adorned with low floral arrangements intermixed with pillar & taper candles in varying heights and pastel colors.
.
The round tables featured lush & low floral centerpieces with an array of beautiful votive candles holders interspersed with pastel-colored floating candles in elegant Monet candle holders. All tables were beautifully covered by a taupe damask linen, while each guest’s place setting featured a Gold Medusa charger plate, blush or ivory satin napkin in a pocket fold with a beautiful menu, a delicious pastel-colored custom sugar cookie with the Double Happiness Chinese character, and elegant place cards with pastel-colored Double Happiness wax seals to indicate the guest’s entree selection.
.
The upper ledges of the ballroom were embellished further by adding romantic vines and florals along the perimeter of the whole room.  Although we had initially been aiming for a “lush garden” theme, when the string quartet began playing in the room for the ceremony, it became full-on “Bridgerton” vibes!

What did you learn Jessie?
That the unexpected can be the most fun!  This was the first wedding I’ve done that has incorporated karaoke into the reception plan. The couple had the DJ hook up their personal Karaoke system to his sound system. It was a huge hit and a really nice change of pace after the few hours of dancing they’d had before that. A really great way to end the night, and something to consider for the right crowd!
