Colourful Backyard Garden Romance

Home weddings hold so much love and memories especially when it is the childhood home of the bride or groom. Breanna and Phil were married in Puerto Rico a few years ago while she was working down there, so this wedding was really all about the party and bringing everyone together! The wedding theme was “Colourful Backyard Garden Romance” embracing lots of colourful florals.

There were glamping lounge tents and sleeping tents set up for select guests to stay for the weekend provided by Wild Havens Pop Up Glamping.

Breanna and Phillip wanted their guests to be spoiled for choice, so the cocktail hour offered many thoughtful options! There was a coffee cart provided by Sip + Social serving up hot and iced coffees. The amazing Free Pour Brothers were on hand to support a classically stocked bar and a beer tap trailer for guests to help themselves to all night long was a huge hit! I loved having this mix of beverage options as it really kept drinks moving and limited any bar line ups adding to guest enjoyment.

Planner Sydney’s POV: I love the colourful garden feeling Breanna wanted to create which was so bright and fun! This wedding highlighted the beautiful garden that Breanna’s family built. We had an impressive clear top tent from A1 Party Rentals enhanced with Bohemian lanterns and string lights implemented by Valley Weddings. Soft blush leg draping brought that soft billowy feel Breanna wanted. The linens were colourful along with the florals! Pink textured linens graced the tables, mixing lavender and baby blue napkins throughout. Bud vases and candles added a playfulness to the mix! It was all so wonderful and pretty!

What was the most successful part of the day?

Home weddings are tricky and a lot of work! The feedback from guests saying how much they enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxed vibe was music to my planner ears! People don’t realize how important flow and timing are and how it affects the guest enjoyment. No one was ever bored, and they always knew what was happening and felt comfortable. With the amount of labour and effort that went into preparations during the lead up, it was the greatest feeling to have such a smooth and successful wedding day outcome!

Side One Band had guests on their feet dancing the night away! Seeing the family all together on the dance floor was easily one of Sydney’s favourite moments.
