The Power Play of Love

The wedding of NHL’s Danton Heinen and the beautiful Julie Sternberg was filled with laughter and romance from start to end. DreamGroup planner Sydney Power was by their side supporting the vision and plan for this impressive celebration of love. The Power Play of Love had all the right moves!

Sydney… What did you love about this wedding?

“Oh this wedding was very special to me and I absolutely love Jules and Dant. They are such kind and wonderful people. We are all very close in age so we made a great team and connected instantly. This was my first pro athlete’s wedding and that was pretty fun! But honestly, what I loved most about this couple was that they are very humble and real.”

What was the vision for the wedding?

“We were going for a luxurious garden/greenhouse feel with a modern twist of black and gold accents. This day was a true celebration of everyone coming together! With Julie’s family coming from the US and many friends and family coming from all different places it was quite an eclectic group of people! They wanted a stunning look and feel to the day, but most importantly for guests to feel relaxed and have a great time! The goal was to host a high quality event that didn’t feel stuffy! My favourite kind of wedding plan!”

What was the design plan?

“We chose lush greens with white flowers to pop on the stunning harvest tables, paired with bold black and gold cutlery. The tables were something to marvel at for sure! Niche Boutique Florals & The Little Wedding Shoppe knocked it out of he park! Beholden Event Design provided the harvest tables which were fabulous!

What was the most successful part of the day?

“Seeing everyone really enjoying themselves and having a great time! Danton & Julie said multiple times to me that this was the best day of their lives and it was the best feeling! Despite some time restraints I was thrilled with how smooth everything ran. Taliah Leigh Photography & Lumina Video were proactive and on the ball. They kept things rolling and actually had everyone finished photos and video earlier than anticipated! When does that ever happen?! This allowed for some super lovely down time before the ceremony.”

What were some of the Highlights?

“The Oyster Shucker bar was a huge hit during the Cocktail Hour and something Julie and Danton were really excited about! The photo booth was another amazing addition to the evening activities, something everyone jumped in to enjoy and capture even more memories together! The Lucky Booth team is always fantastic!”
