Bouquet Significance:

The bride’s bouquet has been an expectation of the bridal look since the ancient Romans started to carry and wear floral garlands as a symbol of fertility, fidelity, and new beginnings.  There are also stories of how they were carried to ward off evil spirits and often included specific herbs and flowers to uphold this theory.  We love them because when else are you ever going to have the opportunity to carry around a fresh floral masterpiece made just for YOU?

Bouquet Tip:

A good rule of thumb is to hold your bouquet low with your arms almost resting on your hips and your shoulders back.  This will ensure it looks great in the photos!  And for those long hot days be sure to give your bouquet a drink every now and then by letting it rest in a vase of cool water.

Bride Naomi loved the idea of having an Aromatherapy Bouquet she could smell all day long to bring her comfort and calm — this one was exquisitely and lovingly created by Sophie at Ninebark Floral Design.  Lavender is said to attract Love & Happiness and there was plenty of lavender in this bouquet which makes sense because this wedding exuded love and happiness all weekend long!

The meaning behind the colours…

Red = Love (okay, that was an easy one…), desire, and courage (it takes a big leap of faith and yes, courage, to say “I do!”)

Yellow = Friendship & Memories

White = Virtue and Respect

Pink = Happiness & Love (you can’t have enough on a wedding day!)

Orange = Excitement & Optimism

Blue = Peace & Relaxation **plus it’s a great way to incorporate your “Something Blue” into the day if you are including those traditions!

Purple = Success & Royalty

Green = Good Fortune & Rebirth
